The inspiration for Stella Foods

The inspiration for Stella Foods

Bloated belly. Stomach cramps. Fatigue. I suffered these symptoms for many years, attributing them largely to garlic and sometimes onions. I stopped adding garlic when cooking for my family of four. Things got a bit better.

Then, the pandemic hit, and we were eating 21 meals a day at home. I was still trying to leave garlic out of my cooking, but I was still suffering from those uncomfortable symptoms. One day, I saw garlic listed as an ingredient in one of my herb salts. What?!? I then looked at other products in my pantry. Soup bases, sauces, dressings, ...everywhere!

My mind was racing. What do I do now? Garlic is everywhere, and I can't remove it. I'd have to buy individual herbs and spices and open every bottle each time I needed an ingredient or wanted to taste more than just salt and pepper. Wait, maybe I can pre-mix some blends so that it doesn't take me so long to cook, when everyone is waiting for a meal. It's a bit of a pain, but it could save me some time when time is limited.

Brainflash. I can just buy some blends for myself. Wrong. Hardly anything on the market. The few products I found weren't appealing to me. Bigger brainflash. Maybe I'm not the only one with this problem. Why not make these blends and offer them to others too? Wouldn't it be great to have a line of blends to cover my daily cooking needs, whether they be for salads and veggies or burgers and BBQ? Something that tasted great but didn't make people feel bad afterwards.

And, that's how Stella Foods was born.
